A delicious celebration of sustainability and community impact, bringing together local chefs, mixologists, entertainers, volunteers, and allies.
Let’s toast to ten years of rescuing food in the DMV!
WE RESCUE!
Featuring food and drinks from beloved area restaurants, our annual event brings together the volunteers, food businesses, Community Partners, and supporters who make DC Food Rescue possible. This zero-waste event includes a silent auction, open bar, and an inspiring program honoring DC Food Rescue’s longevity.
This fundraiser generates critical revenue for ENUF to continue fighting food waste and alleviating hunger across the DC area. By supporting and joining us at our event, you help us grow our community, keep food out of landfill, and nourish our neighbors.

2026 event Program
DC Food Rescue wouldn’t exist without the tireless efforts of program founder, Kate Urbank. As WE RESCUE 26! celebrates ten years of impact in the DMV region, we will be honoring Kate for her commitment to building community and fighting against waste.
While Kate embarks on a new chapter and looks forward to spending more time with her loved ones, join us in celebrating her remarkable and impactful ten years
of grit, determination, and vision!
MaryAlice Parks served as weekend White House correspondent and Deputy Political Director for ABC News and now authors "Voice Memos" on Substack. She has also been an active volunteer with DC Food Rescue since 2021 and has promoted our program as an easy, convenient way to make a difference in your community.
We are thrilled to welcome MaryAlice to our event as we celebrate our ten-year milestone!
Zero Waste
Embodying our sustainability mission, WE RESCUE! has been a zero-waste event since 2024. All cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, napkins, paper, cans, bottles, and food scraps from our event are recycled or composted, rather than contributing to landfill.
At the end of the night, guests can rescue leftovers from our buffet to enjoy at home. Any remaining food is donated to a Community Partner to benefit DC residents experiencing food insecurity.
Sustainability Sponsors
World Centric provides compostable cups, supplies, and tableware for our event, offering a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics. Their sturdy, high-quality products show that sustainability and elegance go hand in hand.
